Paul and Cheryl Welter of Benton, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Nicole Welter, to Jonathan Allen Market. He is the son of Kevin and Cheryl Market of Jackson.

Welter is a 2004 graduate of Kelly High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Southeast Missouri State University in 2008, and recently completed a dietetic internship in Springfield, Mo.

Market is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He received an associate of medical technology degree in respiratory therapy from Mineral Area College in 2009. He is a respiratory therapist at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

An Aug. 8 wedding is planned at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson.
