Missouri getting nearly $19 million in storm damage grants

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Missouri is getting nearly $19 million in federal grants for repairs needed after winter storms hit the southeastern part of the state in late January.

Sen. Claire McCaskill says the Federal Emergency Management Agency is providing more than $10 million to M & A Electric Power Cooperative for the repair of its electrical transmission system.

More than $3 million will go to Associated Electric Cooperative and $2 million to the Howell-Oregon Electric Co-op.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is getting more than $3 million to cover debris removal and damage.
