Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, Madison N. Pixley, 16, of Dudley, was southbound on Highway 25 north of Bernie when she attempted to pass another southbound vehicle and in doing so reportedly veered into the right lane of traffic, lost control and slid off the right side of the highway, striking a pole and then overturning. Pixley and a passenger, 15-year-old Jordan A. Fitts, both suffered injuries. Both were taken to Missouri Southern Healthcare by ambulance. Both the Pixley vehicle and the Bostic vehicle were considered to be totaled in the accidents and were towed from the scene. All six involved in the two accidents were wearing seat belts.
