Donald M. Forehand, 88, of Sardis, Miss., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at his home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1916, in Portia, Ark., son of Marion Elmer and Mollie Ernestine Rapp Forehand. He and Zelma Shively were married March 30, 1940, in Charleston, Mo. She preceded him in death in 1999.
Mr. Forehand was employed 33 years with Phillips Petroleum Co., retiring as Atlantic Coast sales manager. He lived in Cape Girardeau 17 years after retiring, moving to Batesville, Miss., in 1996.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Batesville, lifetime member of Masonic Lodge in Herrin, Ill., and Shrine Temple in Pine Bluff, Ark.
Mr. Forehand served with the U.S. Army in the Asian Pacific Theater during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and John Macredie of Merrimack, N.H.; a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Sharon Forehand of Sardis; a sister, Juanita Helmsle of Pasadena, Texas; three granddaughters, Jamie Golden of Courtland, Miss., Tracie Forehand of Batesville, Donna Murphy of Kaneohe, Hawaii; a grandson, Doug Macredie of Merrimack; two great-grandsons, Joshua Forehand and Michael Golden of Courtland; four great-granddaughters, Allyson Gray of Batesville, Nora, Megan and Bridget Murphy of Kaneohe.
Friends may call at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gibson Cole of Jonesboro, Ark., and Chaplain Don Dunavent of Unity Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Batesville.
