Betty A. Kaempfer, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1927, at Kirksville, Mo., daughter of Travis S. and Flossie Boone Waddill. She and Paul E. Kaempfer were married Dec. 4, 1944, at Kirksville. He died Nov. 17, 2002.
Kaempfer was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and attended First Presbyterian Church. She was a member and past worthy matron of St. Mark's Chapter Order of Eastern Star 167, and member of Order of Amaranth.
Survivors include two sons, James Kaempfer of Gordonville, Larry Kaempfer of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Nancy Strauser of Cape Girardeau; a sister, June Banks of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Eastern Star will have a service at 7, followed by an Amaranth service at 7:30.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Kabo officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
