Pair of accidents slow Wednesday morning commute in Cape Girardeau

Two motor vehicle accidents made for a slow morning commute for some in Cape Girardeau. The first wreck occurred around 7:50 a.m. at William Street and Interstate 55 and partially blocked the southbound exit ramp from the highway. Southbound traffic on the interstate was not affected. Traffic was redirected, but vehicles were backed up on the southbound exit ramp. No injuries were reported. Another wreck was reported around 8:40 a.m. at 1020 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Two people were treated for injuries.
