Individuals interested in identifying and preserving historical records are encouraged to attend a meeting April 21 hosted by the Missouri State Archives. The meeting will be at 1 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Campus Nature Center. It will address grant funding that can be used to support programs that preserve the state's past. The Missouri State Archives is a division of the Office of Secretary of State Robin Carnahan. According to a press release, it has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission to assess the condition of historical records in Missouri and adopting a plan for their future.
