Fire causes damage to Cape house

Saturday, April 4, 2009

A Friday afternoon fire at 126 S. Hanover St. caused light to moderate smoke damage, said Cape Girardeau Fire Department battalion chief Fred Vincel.

The fire started in the area of the clothes dryer of the two-story home, Vincel said, but was out in a matter of minutes. No one was home at the time, but a small dog was rescued from the house without injury.
