Tee Off to Support Lutheran Family and Children's Services

Mark your calendar for May 11, 2009 and register now for a great day of golf on a the beautiful Dalhousie Golf Course, ranked one of the top ten private courses in America. Be a part of the Hope For Families Golf Tournament that supports Lutheran Family and Children's Services (LFCS). It draws golfers from all over the country.

The 18-hole, four-person scramble will include a morning tee-off at 8 a.m. and an afternoon tee-off at 1:30, according meldoy anderson, LFCS Regional Development Director. The day also includes breakfast at 7 a.m. by My Daddy's Cheescake and lunch at 11:30 by the Branding Iron. Margaritas by Main street Lanes, Chips & Salsa by Eldurango, Imo's Pizza and Subs, and Culver's custard, all on the course throughout the afternoon.

The Hole in One prize this year is a $25,000 2009 Honda Accord provided by Cape Girardeau Honda. There will also be a putting contest sponsored by Wieser Powersports. You'll have a chance to win either a 2008 Suzuki Bolevard, valued at over $15,000 or a Piaggio MP3 scooter worth $9,400.

Once again, the premiere sponsor for the event is Walco/DW Tools. Entry fees are $110 for morning flight and $135 for afternoon flight. The afternoon is almost full and the morning is almost half full. To register, call Melody Anderson at 334-5866.

Proceeds help support people right here in southeast Missouri. In 2008, Lutheran Family and Children's Services helped 12 children and families become forever families through domestic and international adoptions. Several children also received permanancy through placement services that LFCS contracts with the Missouri Children's Division in counties in southeast Missouri. Crisis pregnancy counseling served some 85 birth mothers and their children; close to 90 older adults were served through the Older Adult Counseling Program, Alzheimer's Support Group, Memory Matters Program for adults 60 and older with early deminisa, memory lose.
