Royal N'Orleans to reopen Tuesday

The attempt to sell the building that houses the Royal N'Orleans restaurant has been big news since we first reported it last week. Apparently the restaurant manager decided the large "for sale" sign on the front of the building would drive away customers, so he closed the N'Orleans all weekend.
But now manager Derek Miller says the restaurant will open on Tuesday at its regularly scheduled time.

Mississippi River to rise this week

The Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau will go above flood stage later this week, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast. However, the river won't rise high enough to make any flood gates close.

Man arrested for child molestation

A St. James, Mo., man was arrested on Friday and charged with molesting a child under 10 years old, according to the Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney.
Raymond M. Ressel, known as Mike, allegedly molested a young girl earlier this month.
