Dog in roadway leads to Thursday afternoon motor vehicle accident

BOLLINGER COUNTY, Mo. -- An Advance, Mo., man was injured Thursday afternoon as a 1997 Polaris ATV he was driving struck a dog in the roadway and overturned off Route W, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports website. Norman Shelby, 67, was ejected and taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where he was treated for moderate injuries. The accident occurred at around 4:43 p.m. 1 mile north of Greenbriar.
