Intermittent storms expected to continue overnight

PADACUH, Ky. — Eight Southeast Missouri counties remain under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
This National Weather Service radar graphic showed a line of severe storms approaching the area at 5:20 p.m.
The watch was issued at 3:15 p.m.
By 6:50 p.m., the weather service issued a statement that the storms would continue intermittently overnight.
Counties in the watch area include Butler, Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry, Scott and Stoddard.
The area remains under a high wind advisory until 10 p.m., with wind gusts of up to 45 miles per hour possible.
