Christmas pageant performed at Lynwood

Lynwood Baptist Church will present "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," a play based on the popular book by Barbara Robinson, at 6 p.m. Sunday. The play is performed by the members of the WAK children's choir and directed by Jeff South.

Vicki Yohe will perform at Cape First Family

Dove Award nominee Vicki Yohe will be at Cape First Family at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Along with her best-known work, "Because of Who You Are" and "The Mercy Seat," Yohe will also perform songs that celebrate the Christmas season. For more information, call 334-4421 or go to www.capefirstag.org.

'Gloria Deo' program offered at Centenary

Centenary United Methodist Church's Chancel Choir and Chamber Orchestra present "Gloria Deo," a celebration of Christmas with the 40-voice choir and orchestra at the 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services Sunday.

First Baptist spotlights choir at worship service

Everyone is invited to First Baptist Church's all-music morning worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The church's Sanctuary Choir is featured, and there will be selections from other groups and instrumentalists as well. Following the service will be a "Christmas Potluck" lunch. Everyone is asked to bring one or more of the following: chili, veggies, desserts, soup, chips, casseroles and sandwiches.

Bollinger choir to sing to 'The Glory of the Lord'

The Bollinger County Community Choir presents "The Glory of the Lord," a choral celebration for Christmas. There will be two performances Sunday, at 3 p.m. at Zion United Methodist in Gordonville, and at 7 p.m. at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist in Cape Girardeau.

First Christian Church sends out carolers

First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau will share Christmas cheer Sunday. Members will meet at the church at 2:30 p.m. for a short rehearsal, then divide into groups to go caroling around town.

Breakfast with Santa at Centenary UMC

Centenary United Methodist's Little Lambs Playgroup invites all the children and their families to have breakfast with Santa at 9 a.m. Dec. 18. Along with breakfast there will be some activities, a chance to meet Santa and get a picture taken with him. RSVP to the church office by Thursday.

Live Nativity featured at Mount Auburn church

Mount Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau is preparing its annual living Nativity from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Dec. 18. The Nativity draws thousands of people each year and features a real wooden stable, live animals and people portraying Mary, Joseph, shepherds and angels. It takes the combined efforts of more than 70 people to make this event possible. The church fellowship hall will be open for everyone to come in, warm up and have some refreshments. The Come Join Us class of Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville will go caroling at 4:30 p.m. Sunday to shut-ins and others.

Fruitland Community Church will present its children's Christmas pageant, "Miracles Can Happen When You Believe," at 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday

First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau will hold its Ladies Christmas Tea at the Chateau Girardeau multipurpose room at 1 p.m. The program will be "The Story of Christmas."

The Jackson First Baptist Church's JOY Choir will meet at the church at 10 a.m. for rehearsal and a soup/chili lunch. They will leave the church at noon to go to Westfield Shoppingtown West Park to perform Christmas music at 1 p.m.

The Exalt Him Dance Studio presents "The Nutcracker" at 7 p.m. at Christian Faith Fellowship in Cape Girardeau. Admission is free. For more information, call 339-1811.

Wednesday

Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church members are invited meet at 6 p.m. at the church to go out caroling.

Friday

First United Methodist Church in Dexter, Mo., will present "Christmas by Candlelight," featuring Saxy Jazz, at 6 and 8 p.m. For tickets, contact the church at (573) 624-3344.
