Advance hammers tourney host Woodland

Advance scored 55 points in the first half and posted a 74-42 victory against Woodland on Thursday night in the semifinal round of the Woodland Invitational tournament.

Daryl Wade led the Hornets with 17 points.

Advance will play Meadow Heights, a winner against Delta, in tonight's championship.

Jeremy Limbaugh and James Masters both had 14 points, and Tyler Bowman added 13 for Advance (2-0).

Zach Winchester dumped in 12 points for Woodland (1-1) as the only Cardinals player in double figures.

Meadow Heights hit 11 of 19 3-pointers in its 88-72 triumph against Delta in the other semifinal game.

Michael Collier scored 18 points to lead the Panthers. Heath Fulton and Anthony Bollinger each had 16, and Brian Miinch added 13 for Meadow Heights (3-0).

"We played really well, team-wise," Meadow Heights coach Tom Brown said. "We shot extremely well."

Delta's Aaron Kinder led all scorers with 21 points. Cody Crowden and Kevin Bartels had 14 points apiece, and Brent Menz added 13 for the Bobcats (1-1).

Delta will take on Woodland in tonight's third-place game.

In a consolation semifinal game, Bloomfield overcame 27 team fouls and 17 missed free throws to beat Oak Ridge 66-55. Oak Ridge finished with only four players after committing 31 fouls and fouling out four players. Austin Morrison led the Blue Jays with 17 points. Brian Ruesler had 13, and Lance Felter had 11.

Oran Tournament

Mark Dannenmueller scored 35 points to lead Scott City to a 76-63 semifinal victory over Kelly in the Oran Invitational tournament.

The Rams will play tonight against Twin Rivers, which was a semifinal winner over East Prairie, for the championship.

Kelly jumped to a 20-19 first quarter lead, but Scott City led by eight at halftime and never trailed after that.

Mark Johnston added 17 points for Scott City (2-0).

Michael Glastetter led the Hawks with 17 points. Kendal Deason and Kent Deason each scored 12.

In a consolation semifinal game, Scott County Central topped Richland 79-63. Ray Rodgers scored 25 points for the Braves, and Andrew Pullen had 19. Avis White added 14.

Scott County Central will take on Bell City in the consolation championship tonight.
