Resa Hallene Strickland and Wayne Brett Armstrong were married May 31, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge. The Rev. Jon Sedgwick performed the ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Thomas and Judy Strickland of Jackson. The groom is the son of Malcolm Armstrong and Lucia Armstrong of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.
Shannon Hamm of Richmond, Va., was matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Belinda Wilson of Bulawayo, sister of the groom.
Best man was Brian Strickland of Jackson and groomsman was Mark Strickland of Cape Girardeau, brothers of the bride.
Flower girl was Abby Strickland, daughter of Brian and Cathy Strickland and niece of the bride. Ringbearer was Levi Strickland, son of Mark and Lori Strickland and nephew of the bride.
Guest book and program attendant was Caleb Strickland, son of Mark and Lori Strickland and nephew of the bride.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the church. Servers were Judy Ruppel and Bonnie Bollinger.
The bride's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner May 30 at the church.
Mrs. Armstrong received a bachelor of general studies degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1997, with an emphasis in corporate video, interior design and political science. She is a self-employed freelance designer.
The groom received a diploma in primary education from United College of Education at the University of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo. He is office administrator with Kinsey Agricultural Services in Charleston, Mo.
The couple is living in the Jackson area.
