Severe thunderstorm warning

PADACUH, Ky. -- A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northeastern Scott County, Alexander, Pulaski and Union counties in Southern Illinois until 10:30 p.m. The National Weather Service office in Padacuh, Ky. issued a statement on the storm that said it is moving from Benton at 55 miles and hour and delivering winds in excess of 60 miles an hour.
The line of storms will affect most counties in the Bootheel area, causing some ponding of water on the streets, causing a traffic hazard.
