Youth Club meets Jackson Mayor

Modern Woodmen of America held the first meeting of a new youth service club in Jackson last week. The club is designed to help youth become more active in community service while having fun and learning more about their community.

The first meeting was held in the Jackson City Council Chambers where Mayor Barbara Lohr challenged the students to get involved in helping others and have lots of fun along the way.

Halley Juenger, a teacher at Jackson High School, is the club leader and looks forward to seeing the youth grow in their civic spirit and having fun while they do. "This is a great way to teach students the importance of giving back to people all around them while having fun being with each other." The club will emphasize community service through a variety of activites.

Students ages 12-16 are invied ot come to the club's next meetin this Thursday at Main Street Lanes where the group will bowl and get a tour of the bowling alley including a behind the scenes look at how the lanes and the ball returns. The meeting begins at 4 PM and cost for bowling is $5.
