Schilli leads Pirates to shutout victory over Festus

Kendra Schilli netted two goals and dished out three assists Wednesday to lead the Perryville girls soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Festus.

Alicia Kueker also netted two goals and Nicole Gremaud added a goal and an assist for the Pirates (3-2, 1-0).

Emily Westmoreland recorded the shutout.

GOLF Jackson 171, Sikeston 178, Notre Dame 185

Tanner Werner won medalist honors by shooting a 1-under-par 35 and helped Jackson capture first in a tri-meet at Bent Creek.

Brett Slaten fired a 43 to place third for Notre Dame.

The Tigers fell five shots short of knocking off Dexter at the Dexter Country Club.

Tim Simmons led the way for the Tigers with a 41.

Dexter's Chase Holden won medalist honors with a 37.

Nicole McLard struck out 17 batters through seven innings to shut down Egyptian and lead Saxony Lutheran to a victory Tuesday.

Holly Schermann went 2-for-4, while Kara Versemann and Kayla Petzold both added triples for the Crusaders (2-0).

Taylor Franke added two stolen bases for Saxony.

TRACK Ste. Gen. Invitational

The Perryville boys captured first place by one point over Ste. Genevieve behind a strong performance by Kris Cottner in a 12-team meet.

Cottner placed first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, and aided the 1,600 relay in a first-place finish.

Perryville also captured first in the 800 relay.

On the girls side, Perryville placed 11th out of 12 teams with a total of 15 points.

Casey Brewer placed fourth in the shot put for the Pirates.
