Connecting People With the Land

A.J. Hendershot demonstrated bow making techniques and tools to a group at the Connecting People With the Land event Saturday. The indoor and outdoor learning stations included archery, fly tying, casting, decoy carving, wood carving, artifact identification, copper embossing and others.

Hendershot is the Outreach and Education Regional Supervisor with the Missouri Department of Conservation. Local staff members and volunteers with the Missouri Department of Conservation joined Southeast Missouri State University to provide a day of learning opportunities highlighting the conservation and preservation of the cultural and natural resources of southeast Missouri.
