C.D. Thurston, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., for 52 years, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at 6:55 a.m.
C.D. had been sick and moved from Albuquerque to Amarillo, Texas, where he had a heart attack.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Cordes and husband Paul of Jackson; a son, John Thurston and wife Cloris of Amarillo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; two brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.
C.D. was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite; a son, Mark; and a daughter, Margie.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, a supporter of missions and a great man of God.
The funeral was held March 1 at Grace Church in Albuquerque, with Edwin Shepperson officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Gary Cordes, Phillip Cordes, Jonathan Lee, Paul Nogle, Darrell Patz and Reid Warner.
French Mortuary in Albuquerque was in charge of arrangements.
