Sharon and Len Dreyer of Jackson, semi-retired, volunteer individually and as a couple. They have been Make-A-Wish Foundation wish grant volunteers for more than 25 years combined. Sharon said she fell in love with the organization when she went to a Make-A-Wish presentation at the Elks Club. Since 1980 the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted wishes to children, 2 to 18, who have a life threatening disease. The Dreyer's have seen wishes granted that range from playground equipment to Disney trips to shopping sprees. Bringing a gift pertaining to the child's wish before it's granted is customary. One year the Dreyer's dressed their daughter up as Barney to go along with the wish. Len volunteers as Jackson Elks Lodge and local Thrivent chapter treasurer and Love INC board member. Sharon, a Stephen minister, supports individuals in a faith based setting and manages a grief booklet program.
