BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Albert C. Armes, 84, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 4,1920 in Essex, Mo., son of George and Agnes Atherton Armes. He was a member of the Pollock, Mo., Church of Christ and had served as an elder for the Bloomfield and Fredericktown Church of Christ. He retired in 1982 from the USDA Soil Conservation Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.
He and Alberta Burkhart, were married April 16, 1949.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Terry Armes of Bloomfield, Gary Armes of Masonville, Colo., Randy Armes of Jackson; three brothers, Robert Armes of Milan, Mo., Theadore Armes of Vanduser, Mo., Dewey Armes of Warrensburg, Mo.; four sisters, Geneva Parker of Kansas City, Mo., Laura Almond of Lennon, Mich., Alice Cathrine Wagoner of Flatonia, Texas, Mary Williams of Lathrop, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a grandson.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Dale Grissom officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
