Naeters dream has come true

To the editor:

When the Naeter brothers launched the Southeast Missourian on Oct. 3, 1904, they were indeed hopeful, but little did they know it would be their greatest achievement in bringing fame and prominence.

Their philosophy to "Do good for others" has done even more. It has brought pleasure with toil. Their goal to produce constructive news for the newspaper paid off 100 percent.

Many years ago, Mary, the adopted daughter of the Naeters, and I became friends. On occasion I visited the Naeters' home above the Missourian building. It was there that I ate my first chocolate marshmallow cookie. It tasted so good. Memories can be dear.

The Naeters were known to be humble, kind and generous. To not admire them would be an understatement.

Constructive news, then, meant to the Naeters seeing the flowers grow where weeds once took over.

Today their dreams have come true, and their prayers have been answered. What a beautiful philosophy to follow. What heavenly joy they now have.
