Church shows love for the Lord

This letter is in response to the letter about the Cape County Cowboy Church. I am a member of that church. It is the first church I feel at home in. I have never been in a church more in love with the Lord or a preacher such as brother Jim, who loves his Lord and genuinely shows it. You can feel the love when you enter. I suspect that Jesus would not have been welcome in some of the churches that place more importance on what people wear than what they hear in the pulpit. John the Baptist would have surely been told to leave when he showed up in a dusty pair of sandals and dressed in goats skins. Jesus would have been an embarrassment with his dirty robes and dusty sandals. Jesus was surely dressed in his best when he preached to the thousands that he did. Having a church full of fancy, dressed-up people does not make a Christ-filled, Bible-preaching church. Come to Cowboy Church and sit a spell with us before you judge us. Who knows? You might just let your hair down and enjoy a good old down-at-the-cross time. We care more about the truth of Christ and how it is preached than who wears what.
