Senate confirms Clinton as Obama's secretary of state

WASHINGTON -- The Senate confirmed Hillary Rodham Clinton as secretary of state Wednesday as President Obama moved to make his mark on U.S. foreign policy, mobilizing a team of veteran advisers and reaching out to world leaders.
