Wonderful history weekend

To the editor:

"Rediscover Your Cape" was the ultimate in ideas by Chuck Martin, head of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. The committee thanks him for pursuing this format. The Cape River Heritage Museum was delighted with the response. We were not alone.

Our profound praise and appreciation go out to the Southeast Missourian for its wonderful exhibit, generous advertising, refreshments and personnel.

A warm thanks to Jack Beahan III for his entertaining portrayal of Mark Twain.

Thank you, battalion chief Steve NIswonger and crew for making a dream come true for Bud Street. This 90-year-young gentleman had always wanted a ride in a fire truck.

We are happy Elizabeth Wilheim won the goodie basket at the museum.

Those of you who took advantage of this special weekend were rewarded in many ways. Thank you for your most favorable comments.

If you missed this wonderful weekend, the museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Friday and Saturday until mid-December. The Southeast Missourian exhibit will continue for one year.
