Southeast Hospice honors volunteers

The recently held Southeast Hospice Awards banquet honoring volunteers with Southeast Hospice presented the top award, the Gabriel Award, to Helen Hunt for her 1,700 hours of service dedicated to the Pillows for Patients program she started. To date she has made almost 800 pillows. Hunt's other contributions include card making, clerical work and companionship with families and patients. Sue Martin, recipient of the Guardian Angel award, was recognized for her devotion to patients and their families, including one patient she visited weekly for 21 months. Iris Liken, recipient of the Cherub award, offered fundraising, craft and office support. Southeast Hospice volunteers were also recognized for years of service, hours volunteered and miles traveled as volunteers.
