Suspect leads Sikeston police on high-speed chase

Friday, November 21, 2008

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety made an arrest after a high-speed vehicle pursuit Tuesday north of Miner, Mo.

According to radio traffic, the chase apparently proceeded east on Route HH before ending on a county road near Rainbow Lake.

Miner police were not involved in the pursuit but assisted when Miner police officer Will McCormick deployed stop sticks at the intersection of Routes HH and H to help end the pursuit, according to Keith Adams, dispatcher for the Miner Police Department.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the vehicle driven by the suspect was reported stolen from the Days Inn hotel in Sikeston.

Further information on the incident was not available from Sikeston DPS as of press time.
