Bailout isn't constitutional

To the editor:

Our political wizards are telling us that the government is going to give away our money to stabilize the economy. Banks are failing. The mortgage industry is failing. Automakers are failing. The stock market is in free fall. Businesses are going bankrupt. And the government is going to give away $700 billion to stimulate the economy.

The U.S. population is about 300 million. If you gave every citizen $1 million they could pay off their mortgages, buy new cars, put money away for college educations and have money left to invest in the stock market.

No where in the Constitution does it say our government is to bail out a failing economy, and you know it.
