Outage forces concert postponement
Wednesday, October 6, 2004
An 8 p.m. concert featuring opera singer Judith Farris and the Southeast Missouri State University orchestra was postponed Tuesday due to a campuswide power failure.
The concert will be performed today at noon at Academic Auditorium, university officials said.
"We're anticipating we'll be able to do the program [today] in its entirety," said Dr. Sara Edgerton, the orchestra's conductor. "It will still be a great opportunity for people to hear Judith in concert."
University officials said anyone who had tickets and can not attend the rescheduled concert may get refunds from the ticket office beginning Thursday.
Farris is a 1971 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She lives in New York City, where she is a vocal music instructor.
