Courthouse to be dedicated Monday

Sunday, October 5, 2008

The name Rush Hudson Limbaugh Sr. is finally on display at the new federal courthouse in Cape Girardeau. And just in time.

On Monday, anywhere from 500 to 700 invited guests are expected to gather on the lawn of the new courthouse, opened in June after years of delay and millions in cost overruns, to dedicate the $62 million facility. They will hear from the courthouse namesake's grandson, U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh Jr., as well as more than half a dozen other local and federal officials.

The event, which begins at 10:30 a.m., is limited to those who have received invitations because of considerations of security and parking, said Charlie Cook, spokesman for the U.S. General Services Administration in Kansas City.

The courthouse at 555 Independence St. will also be open for guided public tours from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday.

The courthouse was named for Limbaugh because his is one of the most prominent names in legal circles in Southeast Missouri. Along with the legacy of the law firm that bears his name, Limbaugh himself is remembered as tireless, a practitioner of the law who spent almost 80 years working at his profession until just a few months before his 1996 death at age 104.

His son, retired U.S. District Judge Stephen Limbaugh Sr., will also speak at Monday's dedication, and it will be a family reunion for about 60 members of the Limbaugh clan including the best-known Limbaugh, radio host Rush Limbaugh.

"We have people coming in from Los Angeles, from California, from Texas and Florida and all over," Stephen Limbaugh Jr. said Friday. His keynote speech for the dedication will focus on what it means to the family to have their forebear honored.

Lettering with the name was added last week to the brick and concrete monument at the corner of Independence and Frederick streets. The monument, like the courthouse itself, has a short but checkered history. Letters previously set in the concrete have been vandalized, and earlier this year the monument was struck by a motorist.

Two of the largest groups of invited guests are the Rotary Club, of which Rush H. Limbaugh Sr. was a member and past president, and the congregation of the Centenary United Methodist Church, which he joined in 1910 as a student.

Stephen Limbaugh Jr. has been permanently assigned to the Southeast Division of the Eastern District of Missouri, which means he is the first federal judge whose main responsibility will be working in Southeast Missouri. He will handle just more than 60 percent of the criminal cases in the division and half the civil cases. He will also have a docket to cover in St. Louis.

"I anticipate I will be in Cape Girardeau 85 percent of the time," he said.

Along with the two Limbaughs, other speakers include James A. Williams, administrator of the GSA; U.S. Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo.; U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Mo.; Judge James B. Loken, chief judge of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals; and Mayor Jay Knudtson.

Well, that certainly took long enough, didn't it?

i don't know what the inside looks like but the outside isn't that fancy to make it worth 69million dollars, I see houses more fancier than that on the outside. Oh well i guess i will never see the inside because i will never be in that kind of trouble.

Credit Default Swaps....MARK TO MARKET... The BAIL OUT OF FOREIGN BANKS, and the deceit and betrayal of Jo Ann Emerson.

Get to know these two terms well, they are the direct cause of the Wall Street gamblers getting too greedy. The financial mess is only due in a very small part to failing mortgages. The main culprits of this mess credit swaps and Mark to Market. These are accounting procedures and side bets that these Wall Street pigs use to make fantastic wads of money on the side.

There was nothing in the Wall Street Banker Bail Out bill that Jo Ann Emerson voted for on Monday and again on Friday that would stop either Mark To Market, or, Credit Swap Derivatives. Those Republicans who stayed with the people, refused to vote for the Bail Out because of these crooked accounting procedures and side bets which got them into trouble. Emerson voted FOR the bail out knowing full well that Mark To Market, the Credit Default Swaps, and the bail out of foreign banks provisions were still in the bill. Emerson sold us out, then lied to Southeast Missourian journalist, Rudi Keller when she told him that she voted for the bail out on Monday, it was because the bail out of foreign banks was not in it. She lied. No way around it, Emerson lied, then got on a plane on Monday and got her but out of the country, so she would not have to come back here and explain herself.

I used to call Emerson, Princess Fluffy, but now, because she betrayed us so deceitfully, I just call her "The Snake", because that is what she is.

Been looking around. Brian McCollugh is not bad, but I really like JOE ALLEN. 100% pro-2nd Amendment, no question about it, and he is pro-life. www.allen4congress.com

WONDER WHY THE DEDICATION OF THIS WHITE ELEPHANT, WON'T BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.....

Oh, yeah, Jo Ann Emerson, who recently betrayed us in bailing out her Wall Street gambling banker friends, and foreign banks, will be on hand at the dedication...

This blot on the Cape Girardeau landscape, cost even more money than originally planned, because after the plans were finanlized, Emerson DEMANDED THAT the ATRIUM BE AIR CONDITIONED.... YES..Emerson, insisted that the atrium, the towering dead space area between the front door of the building, and the inside entrance into the main part of the building be AIR CONDITIONED... now, you see why I have been calling Jo Ann Emerson, "Princess Fluffy."

Yes, I am 100% positive that the reason that the dedication of this monstrosity, is not open to the public is really a "security" concern, as stated this paragraph from the above article.

"The event, which begins at 10:30 a.m., is limited to those who have received invitations because of considerations of security and parking, said Charlie Cook, spokesman for the U.S. General Services Administration in Kansas City."

The "security" problem, is of course, Jo Ann Emerson, who is being reviled by Democrats, Independents and Republicans alike in the 8th District.

On Saturday, I went to a garage sale in the Ashland Hills area, one of Cape Girardeau's finest subdivisions. Almost every yard had a McCain-Palen sign in it.

At one yard sale, I cautioned a young couple who were pruchasing many items, to not spend all their money. I said, "Jo Ann Emerson needs your money to pay off the gambling debts of her Wall Street greedy banker friends." They nodded in agreement with my speech. The attractive woman who was taking the money turned to speak to me. I thought, oh-oh, I have really made her mad. She said. "DON'T GET ME STARTED....DON'T LET MY HUSBAND HEAR YOU. HE HAS BEEN ON THE COMPUTER ALL MORNING, EMAILING AND TRYING TO CONTACT JO ANN."

This treachery mystifies some of Emerson's most passionate supporters in the past. Many of them are angry and feel betrayed, because they have filtered out all the crap and know excactly what Jo Ann Emerson did to us. She bailed out the Wall Stret bankers who got greedy. It wasn't the mortgage loans that sank them, it was the accounting procedures that they used like "MARK TO MARKET," and CREDIT DEFAULT SWAPS."

Emerson LIED TO RUDI KELLER, a respected journalist at the Southeast Missourian, and noted for his fairness. She took advantage of that and lied to him, saying that the reason that she voted on Monday to bail out Wall Street, because the bail out of foreign banks had been removed from the bill. That was an out and out lie.

Respected Republican congressmen held a press conference on Thursday, and stated that they would NOT vote for the new bill on FRIDAY, because it still had the BAIL OUT OF FOREIGN BANKS IN THE BILL, and that nothing had been done about the accounting procedure, MARK TO MARKET, that got the Wall Street pigs in a mess in the first place.

No wonder that Jo Ann Emerson voted to betray us back here in southern Missouri on Monday, walked out of the building and IMMEDIATELY got on a plane and flew out of the country, instead of coming back here... No wonder that the public, who is paying for this new monument to government pork, will NOT be invited to the dedication... it is because of "security". In other words, if we were allowed to attend, some of us just may tell Jo Ann Emerson how we feel, and that might ruin her HAPPY DAY...

We will have a HAPPY DAY, when we send carpetbagging Jo Ann Emerson back to St. Louis to the arms of her Democrat contributing Attorney husband, and their mansion-like home in St. Louis. Maybe then, she will take his name and stop living off the memory of Bill Emerson.

There are other options. One is Brian, and the other is JOE ALLEN... 100% 2nd Amendment and Pro-Life. www.allen4congress.com

We paid for the new federal courthouse, at least they could do is allow us to attend. The fact that they will prevent us from attending for "security" reasons, is just another indication ole Harry Truman's addage, "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen." Well, In that KITCHEN, it is HOT as HELL for JO ANN EMERSON, but, instead of EMERSON getting out of the KITCHEN, they aren't going to let us in to to tell Emerson what we think of her vote of betrayal.
