Wednesday, October 1, 2008

SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. - A Scott City man and a Chaffee, Mo., woman were injured Tuesday in a two-car accident at County Road 201, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol crash reports Web site.

The accident occurred 2 miles west of Scott City at around 12:45 p.m. as a 1998 Dodge driven by Tony E. Miller, 35, of Scott City was making a left turn and struck a 2002 Mitsubishi driven by Cassie Stoffregen, 22, of Chaffee.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. The drivers were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, where they were treated for moderate injuries.

A lot of people take RT. 201 From Chaffee to Cape because it Knocks off 2 miles, Instead of going into Scott City and hopping on 55 North.Nice little shortcut. However the County has failed to Ever put striped lines down the middle. It's hard to stay on your own side, at night, on foggy, or rainy nights. And slippery,I have seen where people have slid thru the stopsign on the Southwest side of the Airport. It's just a Black top road. Also,What is the Speed limit on 201? There's never been a Speedlimit sign posted.Who's County is it?Cape or Scott. Someone Should take responsibility for the safety of our commuters.
