Boy Scout Recieves National Certificate of Merit

Boy Scout Jacob Thompson of Boy Scout Troop 4210 Chartered by Jackson Elks Lodge #2652 was awarded a National Certificate of Merit from the National Boy Scouts at a Troop Court of Honor on September 15, 2008.

Aaron Shive and Jacob were partners while Scouting for Food last November when Aaron tripped and cut his head on a set of brick steps which required 6 stitches. During the accident, Jacob remained calm and assisted the leader in caring for Aaron and his injury, using his neckerchief to control the bleeding until EMT’s from Jackson Fire Department arrived.
