Catholic schools

St. Mary Cathedral School has announced a $4 million program to modernize and enlarge classrooms and other facilities. Some of the school's current classrooms were constructed nearly a century ago, long before technology like the computers used by the 256 students was ever dreamed of.

Notre Dame Regional High School, with enrollment of 512 students from across the region, also plans to spend $4 million on a second gym, more "cafetorium" space, office space, a technology lab and a health classroom.

At St. Vincent de Paul School, planning is underway for improvements as well, with a fundraising effort expected in the not-too-distant future.

School improvements are among the enhancements that upgrade any community, and Cape Girardeau is blessed to have committed faith communities willing to provide excellent school facilities. We wish the Catholic schools all the best in their efforts.
