Farm Bureau committee endorses Crowell and Emerson

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

The Missouri Farm Bureau political action committee, FARM-PAC, endorsed U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson and state Sen. Jason Crowell for re-election.

Emerson, a Cape Girardeau Republican, is seeking her seventh full term in Congress. The endorsement was made following a review of her voting record and interviews with Emerson and her Democratic opponent, lawyer Joe Allen of Forsyth, Mo., at a regional PAC meeting in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Crowell, who is seeking his second term in the Missouri Senate, also was subject to a review of his voting record and an interview, the farm bureau said in a prepared release. He won the nod over Linda Sanders of Jackson, who did not attend the meeting in Poplar Bluff.

The Missouri Farm Bureau's FARM-PAC's decisions are made by trustees from each county.
