Chaffee's Kiefer blanks Scott City 3-0

Chaffee's Madelyn Kiefer shut down Scott City and got just enough offense to pitch the Red Devils to a 3-0 victory in girls softball action Thursday.

Kiefer pitched seven innings, struck out six, walked none and allowed three hits.

Taylor Kirchdoerfer, Sierra Miller and Megan Horman all had RBIs, while Taylor Hanna added two hits for Chaffee (1-2).

Tori Smith delivered a base hit in the first inning to drive in the game's lone run.

Ashley Cook struck out four and didn't walk a batter to make the run stand up. She also doubled in the game.

Saxony 27, Clearwater 4

Kara Versemann had an inside-the-park grand slam as the Crusaders' offense exploded against Clearwater.

Saxony banged out 27 runs on 20 hits. Nicole McLard picked up the win and added three base hits. Taylor Krauss, Verseman, Kelsey Overbeck and Angel Stone all had multiple hits for Saxony (2-1).

Jackson continued to roll over opponents as it easily handled Kennett.

Erinne Haff and Alison Keiper each won their singles matches then teamed up for a doubles win.

Jackson also got singles wins from Raechel Batz, Maura Neader and Ashley Ptacek.
