PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Ellis E. Walther, 78, of Perryville died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 7, 1929, at Altenburg, Mo., son of John and Emilie Ehlers Walther. He and Susie Wallek were married Oct. 26, 1954.

Walther was an accountant for Anchor Building Corp. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 133 in Perryville and Moose Lodge in St. Louis.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald Walther of St. Louis, Michael Walther of Columbia, Mo., Kenneth Walther of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Edna Colley of Perryville; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Christopher Cole officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military service by American Legion Post 133 and Delta Team.
