Cape school board to set tax rate at meeting

The Cape Girardeau School Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday for a special work session. At 5:30 p.m., the board will set the tax rate for the 2008 to 2009 year. The rate to be considered is $4.16 per $100 assessed valuation. At 6 p.m., the board will hold a regular meeting. Items on the agenda are approval of Project Lead the Way, a pre-engineering program; amending a policy about intradistrict transfers; accepting a $41,402 bid from Hi-Tech Communications to update the sound system in the auditorium of Central Junior High; and approving a professional development plan.
