Four arrested in Scott City drug bust

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

BENTON, Mo. -- Four people were arrested on drug charges Thursday in Scott City following an early morning search warrant.

An investigation by the Scott County Sheriff Department's Criminal Investigation Unit revealed illegal drug activity at 802 Fifth St. East in Scott City, according to a Friday news release from Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.

Four suspects -- three men and one woman -- were arrested without incident. According to the news release, there was evidence indicating the suspects had used cocaine, marijuana and methamphetamine in the residence.

Arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia were: John H. Jungers, 21, 802 Fifth St. East in Scott City; Zachary Graham, 17, 1500 Bloomfield St. in Cape Girardeau; and Courtney Gilmore, 18, 128 Lake Circle in Jackson.

Also arrested was Dillon Jungers, 17, of McClure, Ill., who was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Walter said five vehicles were also seized as evidence because of the continuing drug activity at the residence. A search warrant served several months ago resulted in arrests and seizures at this same address, he noted in the news release. Forfeiture proceedings against the property are being considered.

Dillon Jungers was released on a summons.

John Jungers and Gilmore were released after posting bond of $10,000.

As of press time, Graham remained in custody at the Scott County Jail under $10,000 bond.
