Union group endorses 8th District Democrat
Saturday, August 9, 2008
The Association of Flight Attendants became the second union group to endorse Democratic candidate Joe Allen in Missouri's 8th Congressional District contest. The union, which represents 55,000 members working for 20 airlines, endorsed Allen, a lawyer from Forsyth, Mo., this week, according to release from Allen's campaign. The United Auto Workers endorsed Allen during the last week of July. Allen is seeking to unseat six-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, R-Cape Girardeau, in the Nov. 4 election. Branden C. McCullough of Cape Girardeau is seeking the office as a Libertarian.
