JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A lawmaker is indicted in connection with a sexual assault on a teenage girl, according to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The newspaper reports that Scott Muschany, a Republican from St. Louis, was indicted by a grand jury in the Capitol's home of Cole County in connection with a sexual assault of the 14-year-old daughter of a state employee.
The Post-Dispatch reports that the grand jury returned an indictment charging Muschany with the felony of "deviate sexual assault."
Muschany abruptly decided in May to skip re-election, saying he wanted to spend more time with his wife and sons.
Muschany said at the time that he and his wife "just decided it wasn't the right time to continue."
