Cape Girardeau police are investigating two incidents of vandalism early Tuesday morning on Broadway. A patrol officer driving past 821-D Broadway, a campaign office for Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, noticed an inflammatory racial message spray painted on the wall, and the spray paint was still wet, said Sgt. Barry Hovis, spokesman for the police department. A vacant nearby building at 817 Broadway was also defaced with graffiti. The word "Doboi" was painted on the structure in red paint. The word may be a tag of some sort, Hovis said. Officers photographed the damage and continue to follow up on leads, Hovis said.
