Ameren works to restore scattered power outages
Monday, July 28, 2008
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- About 10,000 St. Louis-area homes and businesses are without power after a severe rainstorm Sunday night.
Ameren spokeswoman Susan Gallagher says outages are scattered after storms produced lightning strikes, strong winds and trees that toppled onto power lines.
She says about 12,000 homes and businesses were without power Monday, but crews already have begun restoring service.
Most of Ameren's areas without power are in Missouri, including parts of Franklin and St. Louis counties.
