LAKE OZARK, Mo. (AP) -- A central Missouri teenager is among at least four people to drown in Missouri over the weekend.
The Missouri State Water Patrol said the body of 18-year-old Cody Landreth of Iberia was found by divers early Monday in a cove at Lake of the Ozarks. He got into trouble when he and three friends were trying to swim 250 feet across the cove.
The patrol says 17-year-old Tanner Stanton of Bethany drowned late Sunday when he tried to cross a low water dam on Big Creek in Bethany and slipped into the water.
Authorities say Aaron Ramirez of Kansas City, Kan., drowned in a swimming pool during a birthday party at a home in the Kansas City suburb of Parkville Saturday night. And Columbia police say Franklin Rogers drowned Saturday night in the pool at the apartment complex where he lived.
