HATTON, Mo. -- A St. Charles man has died after his boat capsized while fishing on farm lake he owned in central Missouri.
Dale Kolb, 65, had been fishing with a friend on the 30-acre lake Saturday when the boat overturned and threw both men into the water, according to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
Patrick Gorman was able to swim to shore and told Kolb to hold onto a water cooler while he went to get help. Kolb was no longer visible when Gorman looked back to the water.
Neither man was wearing a flotation device, according the sheriff's office.
The Missouri State Water Patrol found Kolb's body around 3:30 p.m. after dragging the lake.
