Small quake reported Thursday nightSaturday, July 19, 2008Small earthquake reported Thursday night Parts of the region were shaken Thursday evening as another earthquake rumbled along the Wabash seismic zone, according to the Daily Dunklin Democrat. The minor earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1, according to the U.S. Geological Survey National Earthquake Information Center. The quake occurred at 9:58 p.m. and was centered five miles northwest of Mount Carmel, Ill., at a depth of six miles. Earlier this month, areas along the New Madrid fault have had a few minor earthquakes recorded by the New Madrid Fault Seismic Network. |
