Parts of the region were shaken Thursday evening as another earthquake rumbled along the Wabash seismic zone, according to the Daily Dunklin Democrat. The minor earthquake had a magnitude of 3.1, according to the U.S. Geological Survey National Earthquake Information Center. The quake occurred at 9:58 p.m. and was centered five miles northwest of Mount Carmel, Ill., at a depth of six miles. Earlier this month, areas along the New Madrid fault have had a few minor earthquakes recorded by the New Madrid Fault Seismic Network.
