Housing workshop to be held at Biehle eatery

The Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission will hold an affordable housing development workshop at the Country Kettle on Wednesday. The eatery is near the Biehle exit off Interstate 55 south of Perryville, Mo.

The workshop will feature guest speakers who will address a number of topics, including tax credits, construction do's and don'ts and how to develop a project in a community.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To register, call Margaret Yates at (573) 547-8357.

Cape firm begins quality management programHavco Wood Products in Cape Girardeau has selected Missouri Enterprise Business Assistance Center to provide employee training and implementation assistance for development of quality management systems. Havco is the largest manufacturer of laminated hardwood flooring for dry van truck-trailers, truck bodies and cargo containers in North America.

Le Bistro owners celebrate first yearLe Bistro in Jackson is celebrating its first year in business. To kick off the excitement, baristas Kenny DeCoursey, Majhon Phillips and Sarah Terry attended an honorary bistro conference at Rend Lake, Ill. They earned the right to go by their volunteerism for the business, entertainment during off time, exceptional sales and dress, helping fellow employees, marketing ideas, and upgrading customers to a spa/salon service.
