Accident at William Street and Mount Auburn Road

One person was taken to the hospital this afternoon after a vehicle accident at William Street and Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau.

As of 4:10 p.m., William Street is open to traffic; however, drivers cannot get to South Mount Auburn Road from the intersection.

Without any further details, can only suspect that someone ran a red light.

It's strange that with all the labor- and time-saving devices available nowadays - fatigue and tardiness are still issues.

But, I'm only speculating as to the true cause of the collision.
