Indie Zone Back-2-School Bash

"We wanted to make this year's "Back - 2 - School" Bash focused on just having a good time. We lined up four srtong bands that have unique styles, but also have one common element- fun," explained Tabatha Thompson, Zone 107.1 music director, one of the organizers or the 107.1 Indie Zone Back-2-School Bash.

Scheduled for Saturday, August 28th, the bash will take place at The Camp, 701 N. Main in downtown Cape Girardeau with the doors opening at 8:30 pm and the bands starting at 9 pm. Admission is only $1.07 at the door.

The first featured band of the night will be The Tone Def All-Stars. Tabatha commented, "Tone Def is a great band to begin the evening because they are definitely one of the best party bands in the area."

Fragile Porcelain Mice, out of St. Louis, will follow Tone Def at 10 pm. "Fragile Porcelain Mice have had a large amount of success and air play in the St. Louis area. They also have a great new CD available," explained Tabatha.

Rounding out the show will be two local bands that work with the 'Save Yourself Records' label based in Cape, a co-organizer of the event. "Squad Car has been together for about five years. They can be described as having a big rock sound. They can definitely rock the room," continued Tabatha. "Following Squad Car will be Steer Jockey to finish the evening. They are considered 'trucker punk' and have toured extensively all over the country."

"One of the biggest reasons that we want to throw this bash is to, of course, welcome the students back to Cape and to kick off the school year in a big way. But, we also want to expose the area to large amount of great local talent that exists in this area," explained Tabatha, "it's going to be a fun show."
