Carlyn Carron, 86, of Jackson died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at her home.
She was born Oct. 22, 1917, at Oak Ridge, daughter of Rufus and Cora Wills Reid. She and Landree J. Carron were married Dec. 25, 1936. He died May 20, 1970.
Mrs. Carron was a 1935 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She was an inspector 30 years at Lenco Inc., retiring in 1987.
She had been a Cub Scout den mother, and member and past worthy matron of Oak Ridge Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women, Wesleyan Circle, Wednesday Morning Bible Study, and was a Stephen minister. She was also a member of Cape Girardeau County Christian Women's Club.
Survivors include a son, Reid (Rebecca Rom) Carron of Edina, Minn.; two daughters, Kay McCauley of New Wells, and Cathy (Paul) Hancock of Jackson.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Pat (Lisa) McCauley of Pensacola, Fla., Lynne McCauley of New Wells, John (Traci Telander) Carron of Louisville, Colo., Will and Ben Carron of Edina, Kelly and Carmen Smith of Jackson; and six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Travis McCauley of Pensacola, Adam Meyer and Kirsten King of New Wells, Calen and Abigael Carron of Louisville.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary McCauley; four brothers, Archie, Lrea, Lester and Roscoe; and three sisters, Tileta, Arlyn and Juanita.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at New McKendree Church, with the Revs. John Rice and Jimmy Corbin officiating. Burial will be in Old Goshen Cemetery at Oak Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New McKendree Church Youth Group or to the church mission fund.
